The NYPD arrested two men in a pot bust that was touted on social media as keeping New Brighton safe.
Jason Lynch, 32, of New Brighton, and Jamiel Ross, 30, of Stapleton, were taken into custody on Wednesday at about 4:57 p.m. in front of a home on the 200 block of Benziger Avenue, according to a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.
Over a pound a marijuana was recovered in the incident, the police spokesman said.
A photo showing bags of drugs, cash, a cell phone and other items seized by Anti-Crime Unit officers was posted on Thursday on the 120 Precinct Twitter feed.
Both men were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of marijuana, the police spokesman said.
