A traffic stop led to a drug bust in Wichita Falls Sunday.

About 2:15 p.m., Wichita Falls Police stopped a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by William Burns, 30,  in the 300 block of East Jefferson.

Officers knew from prior contact that Burns’ driver’s license was expired.  When they stopped him, they learned he did not have valid insurance.

When officers began to process the vehicle for impound, they discovered three small baggies with a crystal type substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

The total weight for the methamphetamine was 12.51 grams. Officers also located less than 2 ounces of marijuana, several more empty plastic baggies and a digital scale.

Burns was arrested and transported to the Wichita County jail where he was charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana under two ounces.
